Developed out of the Fostering Network’s "Why do people enquire but don't proceed?" study, these guidelines will help fostering services evaluate their current recruitment methods so that they can gain a better understanding of why so many potential foster carers do not go on to apply to foster.

If you need help with recruiting foster carers you should buy a copy of the Good Practice Guidelines on the Recruitment of Foster Carers which provides useful information to help you develop an effective strategy to recruit the foster carers you need.
The Fostering Network has received funding from the Children’s Workforce Development Council (CWDC) to carry out a study into the current availability of mentoring schemes for foster carers within England. Good Practice Guidelines are being published in the autumn.
