The fostering links project works by developing and maintaining connections with people connected to or interested in fostering in Scotland. It makes these connections in a number of ways:
The focus group structure unites all members of the foster care service across Scotland, allowing representatives of all stakeholders in the foster care service to meet together, exchange ideas, identify key issues and campaign around these issues.
The focus groups will be based in the three geographical areas of Scotland - the North, East and West.
Our free membership meetings are open to anyone interested in the foster care service. Each meeting includes workshops and a talk, led by an expert on different aspects of the fostering service.
Members will be encouraged to use their skills and experience to help others and offer support to those in their local areas.
Our newsletter is sent to all individual members and agencies across Scotland. It is also distributed at membership meetings, focus group meetings, training events and seminars. Contributions from carers, young people and agency staff are always welcomed and highly valued.
