Foster care associations
Foster care associations can be a valuable source of support for foster carers. Foster care associations are groups of foster carers who come together to support the foster carers in their area. They often work with fostering services to represent the views of foster carers. Foster Care Associations vary widely in terms of size and the work that they do.
The Fostering Network has a long established Foster Care Associations project which supports foster carers to start foster care associations and works with existing foster care associations to promote good practice. We also facilitate regional forums to allow foster care associations to come together to share their knowledge and experiences.
Through the project we have produced a range of resources about foster care associations. Members of the Fostering Network log in here for more information and resources on foster care associations, and access to peer to peer support in our online community.
