Sons and daughters
Fostering involves the whole family. Sons and daughters of foster carers can find it difficult to deal with the added responsibility of being part of a foster family and sharing their parents' attention. However many sons and daughters of foster family enjoy being part of a foster family and thrive on becoming good role models.
Every autumn we run Sons & Daughters: Celebrating the foster family - a UK-wide campaign to celebrate the role that sons and daughters of foster carers play in fostering. We have also worked with fostering services to create sons and daughters groups.
We have produced a range of resources to help foster carers and fostering services support the sons and daughters of foster carers. Members of the Fostering Network log in here for more information and resources on the issues affecting sons and daughters of foster carers, and for access to peer to peer support in our online community.
