Delegated authority survey

This summer the Fostering Network is launching a campaign called 'Like everyone else', to highlight the fact that far too many children are still missing out because foster carers aren't being empowered to make day-to-day decisions about their care.

There has been lots of talk across the UK about foster carers being allowed to make everyday decisions for the children they care for, such as letting them go to a sleepover at a friends' house, signing forms for school trips, arranging hair cuts and so on. However there is little evidence to show that things have improved on the ground.

We would like to find out if there has been any improvement, and to identify areas which are still causing problems for foster carers, social workers and most importantly fostered children and young people. Can you help us? Complete our survey at www.surveymonkey.com/s/2X9JGSJ.

Closing date for responses is Friday 17 August. If you have any questions about the survey, please contact the campaigns team campaigns@fostering.net or 020 7620 6434.

If you would like to get involved in our campaigns more regularly and really make a difference, sign up to our rapid response group at www.fostering.net/rrg
