Fostering Links
The Fostering Links project has been renewed for three years from October 2009. Financed by the Big Lottery Fund the project aims to support foster carers across Scotland to play an active and effective part in influencing decision makers, having the confidence to influence policy and have the opportunity to offer peer support.
Project activities
- A newsletter, Fostering in Scotland is produced quarterly.
- Regular membership and focus group meetings bring foster carers and fostering agency workers together to share experiences and develop links across the country. The next focus group dates are in March 2010, across Glasgow, Perth and Inverness
- Foster carers' skills will be developed with training sessions on media, advocacy and assertiveness skills - the next skills training courses are being held in Glasgow and Edinburgh, April 2010
