• Northern Ireland foster carer of the year announced
  The winner of the competition, Angela McCallister from Carrick has been a foster carer for over ten years and was nominated by her foster daughter, Rachel. She will win a weekend in Paris in recognition of the dedication and devotion shown to the children in her care.

• New campaign launches to find hundreds of foster carers in Northern Ireland
  Leading charity the Fostering Network Northern Ireland is to launch a major national campaign on Monday 14 May to call on the general public to consider becoming a foster carer.

• The Fostering Network welcomes proposals for children in care in Northern Ireland
  The Fostering Network has welcomed the publication of today’s consultation Care matters in Northern Ireland - a bridge to a better future.

• Northern Ireland celebrates success of scheme to boost education of fostered children
  The Fostering Network Northern Ireland and Include Youth are to celebrate the success of a Government-funded initiative to improve the educational achievement of fostered children, at an event to be held in Belfast, on Monday 5 February 2007.

• Deputy Lord Mayor helps the Fostering Network prepare for charity ball
  The Deputy Lord Mayor of Belfast, Councillor Ruth Patterson has pledged her support to the Fostering Network’s Black Tie and Diamonds charity ball, which takes place on 18 May 2007 in Belfast City Hall. The ball forms part of Foster Care Fortnight 2007, the UK-wide campaign to attract more people into fostering.
