The Fostering Network Wales appoints new director

Leading charity the Fostering Network have appointed Freda Lewis as the new Director of the Fostering Network in Wales.
 
Lewis, who takes up the post in August, brings a wealth of experience to the post: she trained as a nurse, midwife and health visitor in South Wales and currently works for the Welsh Assembly Government as Adoption and Fostering Policy Manager.
 
Lewis said:

“I am very excited about joining the Fostering Network at such a positive time within Wales. There is a big commitment across all parties in the Welsh Assembly Government to improve the lives of disadvantaged children and young people. I look forward to working with the Welsh Assembly Government and key stakeholders to influence and improve the lives of children and young people in care”.
 
Robert Tapsfield, the Fostering Network's chief executive, said:

”I’m pleased to welcome Freda Lewis to the Fostering Network. Freda is passionately committed to improving foster care and I am very confident she will make an important contribution to shaping the future of our work.”
