Feedback required for delegated responsibility project
The Fostering Network is inviting child care managers and social workers to share their views about delegated responsibility for foster carers, via an online questionnaire.
The survey forms part of a two-year project in England to support child-centred decision making in the delegation of responsibility for looked-after children and young people.
Funded by the Department for Children, Schools and Families, the project is currently researching policy and practice, the perspectives of different stakeholders and the barriers involved in giving foster carers more responsibility.
The outcomes of the project will be used to produce a range of tools and a training module for social workers and foster carers, before the findings are disseminated across England in 2011.
Anyone interested in the project can contact jacky.slade@fostering.net to make comments or to send examples of problems or practice.
