Young people invited to Learning with Care roadshow in Wales
Young people in care in Wales are being invited to make their voices heard at the Fostering Network's Learning with Care roadshow this spring.
The roadshow will be stopping in Wrexham (6 Feb), Cardiff (20 Feb) and Llanelli (6 March). Each day-long event will be open to young people aged between 14 and 17. Through drama, workshops and discussions they will be encouraged to identify the barriers to getting a good education and what sort of help a young person in care needs at school.
The views captured at the workshops will be used to help develop a DVD about a fictional young woman in care called Lydia. The DVD will then be distributed to schools to help inform teachers about the needs of looked-after young people. No filming will take place at the events.
There are 20 places available at each workshop, allocated on a first come, first served basis. The young people who attend will receive a small gift. For more information or to book a place, see the flyer or contact Maria Boffey on 029 2044 0940 or maria.boffey@fostering.net
