150 editions of Foster Care on your doorstep
Monday, 23 July, 2012
The 150th edition of Foster Care magazine has been published this week.
Foster Care has been a consistent companion for those involved in foster care for over 37 years. It has been published since the Fostering Network began life as the National Foster Care Association, in 1974, and has been avidly read by members of the organisation ever since.
It is the only magazine exclusively for foster carers and other fostering professionals.
The summer edition shows how the charity can help with financial advice, and there are details of great new offers for the Fostering Network’s members. It also contains the Fostering Network’s 2011/12 annual review.
Laurence Pollock, editor of Foster Care, said: “The magazine has been running since 1974 with the same name and same principles – to provide information, analysis and commentary on the key issues in fostering for our members.
“At a time when society, children’s care and the organisation itself have changed dramatically, the existence of Foster Care in various designs and under various editors has offered some continuity.
“The magazine has always provided an informed and objective view on foster care and the related issues, and has long been recognised as an important read for all those involved in fostering.”
