Foster care charter

The Government published its Foster Carers’ Charter for fostering services in England in March 2011. Their charter is a list of principles to promote a shared understanding of what foster care is about and the important role of foster carers in making a real difference to the lives of children and young people in care.

Guidance for members of the Fostering Network

The Fostering Network welcomed the Government charter and consulted with our members to consider how to put the principles into practice. We have produced the following documents to guide you.
