Southend-On-Sea Borough council aims to provide safe, high quality family-based care for children and young people through our growing team of over one hundred foster carers.
There are three main routes into becoming a foster carer for Southend On Sea Borough Council; as a voluntary carer, a fee paid carer or as part of our new Southend Fostering Project where you could earn up to £25,000, plus fostering allowances, a year.
All carers receive a generous allowance to cover the expenses for each child placed with them, they also have the support of their own Supervising Social Worker as well as 24 hour support from the fostering team.

Suffolk’s Fostering Service welcomes applicants from all backgrounds and ethnicities.
We require foster carers able to look after children and young people aged 0-18 years, with a wide range of care needs, for both short and long term placements and are particularly keen to hear from those interested in offering care to teenagers, children with disabilities and sibling groups.

SFS is an established not for profit charity with strong and positive working relationships with Local Authorities.
SFS offer a high level of support to foster carers including 24 hour access to a social worker, SFS also has educational and behavioural management consultants who can offer specific support. We offer a comprehensive training programme to all our carers and are interested in foster carers willing to consider looking after children, young people, parent & baby placements aged 0 to 18 years old. However we would particularly welcome applications from people willing to foster children aged 8 years and older. SFS are also recruiting long and short term foster carer’s for children with disabilities.
We have vacancies for carers in short term, long term, respite, siblings, babies, teenagers, mother and baby placements, disabled children and shared care. We welcome applicants from variety of backgrounds including single, married, divorced, employed, unemployed, same sex relationship and all ethnicities.
Thurrock Fostering welcome all enquiries from Thurrock areas of Grays, Purfleet, South Ockendon, Corringham, Stanford le Hope, West Thurrock, Tilbury, Orsett, Horndon, Bulphan, Linford, East Tilbury, Aveley and Stifford.
