We welcome anyone interested in fostering to come forward and contact us for an informal chat.  We offer an extensive ongoing training package, a high level of support and allowances to help care for children.  We welcome people from all different backgrounds, cultures and heritage.  We would like to hear from you regardless of whether you are married, in a single-sex partnership, single or divorced.

Southend-On-Sea Borough council aims to provide safe, high quality family-based care for children and young people through our growing team of over one hundred foster carers.

There are three main routes into becoming a foster carer for Southend On Sea Borough Council; as a voluntary carer, a fee paid carer or as part of our new Southend Fostering Project where you could earn up to £25,000, plus fostering allowances, a year.

All carers receive a generous allowance to cover the expenses for each child placed with them, they also have the support of their own Supervising Social Worker as well as 24 hour support from the fostering team.
