Intensive fostering service for teenagers. This fostering service is a partnership with Scottish Borders Council and we are recruiting for carers within the Borders for this specialist fostering service.
We have experience of providing comprehensive assessments to young people and supporting authorities in making long term decisions for care plan.
CareVisions Fostering provides short, medium and long term care for children, young people and sibling groups. This is delivered using a therapeutic model of childcare that is based on a sound theoretical and evaluated concept underpinned by the Sanctuary model of trauma recovery.
We are committed to providing an integrated needs led service which is person centred and focussed on outcomes. Our assessment process is underpinned by developing partnership working with potential carers. This extends to placing social workers and other relevant professionals when undertaking the matching and placement planning process. We regularly review placements to ensure the needs of all parties are being met.
Safer care is a primary objective of CareVisions Fostering and vulnerable young people are encouraged to engage in healthy activities. Young people are supported to make positive choices that aim to see a reduction in risk taking behaviours such as absconding, drug and alcohol misuse and offending. Our carers undertake safer carer training within our preparation materials and are asked to develop a household policy in relation to safer care in the home. As an integral element of the Sanctuary process, carers, their own family members and the young person in placement will be encouraged and supported to develop a personal safety plan, with the aim of reducing risk and helping them feel safe.
Children and young people are also supported to access primary and specialist healthcare – which includes the following:
Health Education
Anti-smoking advice
Information on safer sex and relationships
Diet and hygiene
Healthy Lifestyles
Information on alcohol and drug misuse
Access to CAMHS and advocacy or counselling services
We are a specialist foster care service for adolescents. Foster carers are employed on a full-time basis to ensure their availability. We are recruiting carers in Glasgow and Angus areas. We are looking for carers with previous child care experience but with no-one under eighteen living in the house.
