Children and Young Persons Act 2008
This Act reforms the current statutory framework for the care system and makes new provisions for the delivery of local authority social work services for children and young people. Key areas of focus are improving placement stability; ensuring young people are not made to leave care before they are ready; improving the educational experience of children in care; and ensuring children and young people get to voice their opinions on decisions being made that affect their future.
