This Foster Care Fortnight we want everyone to know they can help make life better for children who are fostered. By making a donation to the Fostering Network you can help ensure children get the care they need.
Right now 51,000 children in the UK, who cannot live with their own families, are being looked after by foster carers. Foster carers will give them the care they need until they can return to their own families or move on elsewhere. In providing this vital service foster carers and their families share their lives and homes day to day. It's a rewarding role, but they cannot do it alone.
We are asking you to support them with a donation to the Fostering Network. For every £100 we raise, we can offer a foster carer the support they need for a year, including specialist training, information and independent advice. We know these services will help ensure that children get the best possible care.
This support will be invaluable to the 5,200 new foster carers that fostering services are working to recruit over the next twelve months, starting this Foster Care Fortnight. New foster carers will need to build on the qualities they have, learning new skills and knowledge. Along the way, many will also need our advice and support.
We've made it easy to support our work. You can:
