About this course
Risk Assessment is a fundamental feature of safer caring and is
key to improving outcomes for children and young people who are
looked after. The course will provide participants with a model for
risk assessment and an opportunity to practice using it in
conjunction with risk management skills.
This course will enable participants to:
- gain an understanding of good practice in information sharing
when placing children and young people in foster care
- understand what a risk assessment is and the role it plays in
family placement
- review the theory and principles of risk assessment
- apply the risk assessment framework in your working
practice
- practice risk assessment and risk management skills.
This course contributes to the underpinning knowledge
requirements for:
- NVQ Health and Social Care Level 3, Children and Young People
units: 32, 34, 317, 395 and 3117
- Post Qualifying Award in Child Care units: A, D and E.
