This course explores issues related to the care of separated asylum seeking and refugee children and the role of social carers, particularly in the light of the curent climate and legislation. Asylum seekers and refugees are often in the news and the number of children and young people in this category who need foster care is increasing. Foster carers and social workers in fostering services need to have clear and accurate information about the role of foster care in the lives of these children and young people.
