The needs of those working with vulnerable children and young people are often overlooked. This course introduces and addresses the concept of secondary traumatic stress disorder, which may affect foster carers, social workers and teachers, among others. It explores the challenges of living and working with traumatised children and young people, and the importance of self awareness and reliable support structures. The course looks at how to reduce the risk of secondary stress disorders, as well as providing straightforward approaches to treatment and recovery. It has been described as an "eye-opener".
