15 January 2008, Methodist International Centre, Euston, London (1 day course)
£135 + VAT
This course presents vital information about two types of trauma that can affect children and young people in foster care. Firstly, it explores the impact of emotional trauma, and the recovery process. It then goes on to examine ‘developmental trauma’ – the brain injury that stems from unmet social/emotional needs in early childhood.
Practically focused, the course addresses how to recognise indicators of post-traumatic stress, and teaches participants how to put in place the structures and interventions that enable recovery and promote resilience.
