Fostering Achievement educational pack in homes for summer

24 June 2008

Project manager Hugh McAllister and friends at the Linenhall Library Fostering Achievement packs have been distributed to all homes throughout Northern Ireland. The response received by the Fostering Achievement team from carers has been fantastic.

Former Foster Carer of the Year Angela McCallister described the excitement of her young foster son opening the educational pack for the first time. "He just could not believe what he was seeing. The pack is a fantastic combination of educational tools and fun learning. We are just delighted to receive this and in perfect timing for the summer holidays."

Another carer from Broughshane contacted Fostering Achievement to say, “I just wanted to say thank you very much for the "Study Buddies" pack which we received a couple of days ago. There was great excitement when our 2 foster children got home from school and I couldn't believe just how much you managed to pack into the very handy storage box. A lot of thought has obviously gone into making these up and we are very grateful for any help in furthering the children’s education.”

Project Manager of Fostering Achievement Hugh McAllister is delighted with the positive feedback being received by carers. Hugh officially launched the Fostering Achievement education pack, DVD and CD in March at Linenhall Library in Belfast. Time was taken to ensure that the educational pack was suited to all children’s needs to help enhance literacy and numeracy skills through creative and alternative ways of learning.
