The Fostering Network has been contacted by a social research company Vision Twentyone who are conducting a survey with looked after children and foster carers. The research has been commissioned by the NHS in the East of England.
This is an excellent opportunity for foster carers in the East of England to have their voices heard by the NHS.
Over the last few months more than 100 doctors and nurses from across the East of England have worked together with patients and stakeholders to develop a vision for a better future for the NHS in the region over the next 10 years. The vision is clinically led and based on clear evidence. However, before any changes are made, the NHS are keen to ensure that they understand what the key issues are that looked after children face with regards to accessing health services, and how they and their foster carers gather information about health.
This survey is for foster carers in the East of England and will take less than 10 minutes to complete. The first 50 foster carers who respond will each receive a £5 voucher as a 'thank you' for taking part if you submit your survey by Monday 21 July 2008. Please note, you will need to provide your name and postal address in order to receive the voucher. All the information collected is completely confidential and your responses will remain anonymous.
