The Fostering Network is managed through a board of trustees and the senior management team.
The board of trustees is made up of elected Fostering Network members from across the spectrum of UK fostering, including many individual foster carers.
The senior management team is made up of professionals in a range of disciplines, many of whom have long experience in the world of social work or foster care.
David has been a registered foster carer for 13 years. He was chair of the Fostering Network from 2002 to 2005. He is also a full time fire fighter for Essex Fire and Rescue Service and served in the army for 6 years. He chaired his local Foster Care Association for 5 years and was made president of the Fostering Network in 2005. In October 2006 he was voted in as a member of the Fostering Network Board.
David is enthusiastic about his role as president:
As president of the Fostering Network I want to be a real
ambassador for the whole of the foster care service: somebody that
all of our members and all of our stakeholders can identify with
and reach out to.
I believe that influence can affect eternity and I will
continue to take every opportunity to promote the real added value
to our society that fostering and our fostering families
provide.
